9/10: Red skin potato, oil on canvas panel, 5x7 in.
I think I like this one a lot. Somehow my colors seem cleaner, and there's a wider range of temperature than usual, with a cool background for Brian.... I had rediscovered my old copy of Henri's The Art Spirit recently and was happy to see which passages were marked by the younger me, for instance: "The beauty of the larger mass is primary to and is essential to the lesser mass." Such a fundamental concept that I still struggle to master.
