Yellow squash

9/11: Yellow squash, oil on hardboard, approx. 4x9 in.

It's really amazing how nice a green can be made from yellow and black. Sometime I'll have to sit and make myself a chart of the different greens that I could mix from yellow and ochre (ok, I'm going back to spelling it "-re," as the other way wasn't sitting right). I don't know why I fould the "back" side of this squash more interesting, but that's why I turned it around. But the composition doesn't sit right (I could trim away an edge or two later).
